Un scrutin qui aura, pour beaucoup, des allures de match retour après celui de 2020.
Il y a six ans, Léonore Moncond’huy avait créé la surprise en étant élue à l’issue d’une triangulaire. La candidate écologiste, à la tête d’une liste citoyenne, faisait partie de la « vague verte » ayant déferlé dans certaines villes moyennes et grandes villes. Mais contrairement à Marseille, Strasbourg ou Bordeaux, tenues alors par la droite, elle avait ravi Poitiers aux socialistes, qui géraient la ville depuis 1977, en battant largement le maire sortant, Alain Claeys.
