Aujourd’hui, 40 % des Français sont myopes : ils voient mal de loin. Pourtant, ils n’étaient que 15 % en 1950. Et l’augmentation de ce trouble visuel est liée à des facteurs génétiques, mais surtout environnementaux.
Le développement de la myopie est surtout lié à un changement de notre mode de vie : aujourd’hui, nous passons moins de temps à l’extérieur. Nous sollicitons davantage la vision de près au quotidien, et la vision de loin est moins entraînée.
