Dans un discours virulent au Forum économique mondial ce 21 janvier, le gouverneur californien, Gavin Newsom, a exhorté les Européens à « avoir du cran » face aux menaces répétées du président américain, Donald Trump.
M. Newsom, pressenti pour être candidat à la Maison Blanche en 2028, critique régulièrement M. Trump avec virulence. Il a également demandé à la communauté internationale « d’arrêter d’être complice » : « La diplomatie avec Donald Trump ? C’est un T. rex. Soit vous vous alliez à lui, soit il vous dévore. C’est l’un ou l’autre… Réveillez-vous ! Où diable étaient-ils tous passés ? »
