Début à Genève de la réunion entre négociateurs ukrainiens et américains
Une nouvelle réunion entre émissaires ukrainiens et américains a commencé, jeudi, à Genève, a annoncé Kiev. Les représentants ukrainiens rencontrent les émissaires américains Steve Witkoff et Jared Kushner, a écrit Rustem Umerov, le principal négociateur ukrainien, dans un message sur X.
La délégation ukrainienne, qui comprend également le ministre de l’économie, Oleksi Sobolev, et sa vice-ministre Daryna Martchak, doit aborder la reconstruction économique ainsi que de futurs échanges de prisonniers avec la Russie, selon M. Umerov.
Cette réunion survient après un précédent cycle de négociations entre l’Ukraine, la Russie et les Etats-Unis, à Genève, les 17 et 18 février, qui s’est conclu sans avancée sur les questions territoriales ni sur un cessez-le-feu.
Le week-end dernier, M. Witkoff a annoncé que les Etats-Unis espéraient organiser un nouveau round de discussions russo-ukrainiennes dans les trois prochaines semaines, évoquant la possibilité d’un premier sommet en temps de guerre entre Volodymyr Zelensky et le président russe, Vladimir Poutine. Le Kremlin a toutefois tempéré les attentes sur la tenue rapide d’un tel sommet, estimant qu’une réunion trilatérale – incluant Donald Trump – ne devrait avoir lieu qu’à la phase finale des négociations.
