Le Comité international de la Croix-Rouge (CICR) a annoncé, jeudi 29 janvier, avoir remis les corps de 15 Palestiniens, après le retour en Israël du corps du dernier otage israélien récupéré par l’armée dans un cimetière du nord de la bande de Gaza.
Ce transfert « marque l’achèvement d’une opération menée pendant des mois, qui a permis de réunir des familles et de soutenir la mise en œuvre de l’accord de cessez-le-feu » entré en vigueur le 10 octobre entre Israël et le mouvement islamiste palestinien Hamas, après un peu plus de deux ans de guerre, écrit le CICR dans un communiqué.
« L’opération a commencé en octobre avec la libération et le transfert de 20 otages vivants et de 1 808 détenus » palestiniens relâchés par les autorités israéliennes, ajoute le texte, précisant que, « dans les phases suivantes, le CICR a facilité le retour des personnes décédées, dont 27 des 28 otages, et de 360 Palestiniens ».
