Selon un communiqué, le ministère des affaires étrangères du Qatar a signifié à l’ambassadeur iranien « que la répétition de ces attaques constituait un acte inconsidéré et irresponsable », et que leur poursuite « entraînerait inévitablement de graves répercussions sur les relations bilatérales ».
De son côté, l’émir du Qatar, le Cheikh Tamim Ben Hamad Al Thani, a appelé à contenir une « dangereuse escalade » au Moyen-Orient, lors d’un appel téléphonique avec le président américain, Donald Trump. Les deux dirigeants « ont abordé les derniers développements en matière de sécurité dans la région et leurs répercussions », a affirmé le bureau de l’émir dans un communiqué, après que des missiles et des drones iraniens ont visé des pays du Golfe, dont le Qatar.
