Quelques femmes, enfants et personnes âgées exilés pendant le conflit ont été autorisés, à partir du 2 février, à regagner la bande de Gaza. Le poste-frontière avec l’Egypte, dans la ville de Rafah, resté fermé pendant la majeure partie du conflit, a été très partiellement réouvert sous un strict contrôle israélien.
A leur arrivée en bus à l’hôpital Nasser de Khan Younès, dans le sud de l’enclave, ils ont été accueillis par leurs proches, très émus devant les téléphones portables brandis pour ne rien manquer du moment. Plusieurs photographes ont assisté aux retrouvailles.
