Des heurts ont eu lieu entre des militants autochtones brésiliens et les agents de sécurité de la conférence sur le climat de l’ONU à Belem, au Brésil.
Les indigènes et leurs soutiens terminaient une marche pour le climat et la santé et dansaient devant l’entrée de la COP30, dans cette ville d’Amazonie brésilienne. Ils sont ensuite entrés dans le bâtiment et ont passé les portiques de sécurité, avant que les agents de sécurité les repoussent physiquement, ce à quoi certains manifestants ont résisté.
Ces heurts tranchent avec la volonté du Brésil de faire de cette conférence « la meilleure COP en termes de participation indigène », selon les termes de la ministre des peuples indigènes, Sonia Guajajara, dans un entretien à l’AFP la semaine dernière.
