Quatre-vingt-cinq Etats membres des Nations unies (ONU), dont la France, ont fermement condamné, mardi 17 février, l’adoption par Israël de nouvelles mesures visant à « étendre [sa] présence illégale » en Cisjordanie et ont également réaffirmé leur « ferme opposition à toute forme d’annexion ». Leur déclaration commune rejette également « toutes les mesures visant à modifier la composition démographique, la nature et le statut du territoire palestinien occupé depuis 1967, y compris Jérusalem-Est ».
Plus de 500 000 Israéliens vivent aujourd’hui en Cisjordanie dans des colonies que l’ONU juge illégales au regard du droit international, au milieu de quelque trois millions de Palestiniens.
